WWE and Alberto Del Rio have been in communication for several weeks now. We reported just last week that there were reports that Alberto Del Rio was open to a WWE return. Del Rio also had talks with TNA, but made the decision to return to WWE. Del Rio is still the reigning AAA Mega Champion, and AAA did not know about Del Rio’s WWE return until the day it happened.
Del Rio reportedtly got a “very good deal” to return. WWE planned for Del Rio to be the mystery opponent for Cena before they actually announced the open challenge for the show. Del Rio’s new WWE schedule is said to be easier than most talents, but not as light as Chris Jericho, Brock Lesnar or The Undertaker’s schedules.
Super Luchas is reporting that there is no current deal between AAA and WWE, and Del Rio will likely be allowed to fulfill his November dates. They also report that Del Rio negotiated with Triple H for his return. WWE made the move because of the need to try and push a top Latino star.
Also, the reason for John Cena losing the title is because he finished up with WWE (for the time being) last night and isn’t expected to be back until the December 26th WWE live event at MSG.
